David Lloyd Clubs offer state-of-the-art fitness equipment, tennis courts, the latest in group exercise, health & beauty spas and business lounges to 100 different locations across the UK.

David Lloyd Clubs encourage members and employees to embrace their ‘My Club, for My Life’ philosophy. For their members this means using the club for all aspects of their life as their needs and demands change, whether that's when they are single professionals, become a family or even when they retire.

That is also the same for employees at David Lloyd. They are a family built on strong values, they look after each other, they have fun and they celebrate wins, however small.

The Club is built on six core principles: Passion to serve; Will to win; Freedom to succeed; Edge; We play; and Say thank you. Employees are asked to live these values in their day to day working lives.

Every month, employees, and members are invited to give nominations for the 'Club Team Member of the Month', based on who has demonstrated a particular value. The winner for each club is recognised within and also invited to a regional celebration. The regional celebration includes a day out with other winners from the same region where they can enjoy an activity such as the London eye, an escape room and many others.

David Lloyd currently run two development programmes. One for team members to become ready for middle management roles called 'Step up to HoD'; and one for HoDs to become ready for a General Manager role called 'Step up to GM'. Both programmes have been designed and run by Operations and HR collaboratively and both have gained considerable credibility within the business with delegates feeling a sense of recognition in being selected.?

David Lloyd provide a number of practices to help reduce workplace stress. They have always offered an Employee Advice Line where you can access free 24 hour counselling support, but this year they have launched specific initiatives to underpin their commitment to reducing workplace stress: The Employee Advice Line now includes six free counselling sessions for everyone, they have launched a full management training programme specifically on mental health, and also launched 13 e-learning modules on a number of topics recognising stress.?

David Lloyd have an employee engagement application called 'KITBag' which can be accessed via a computer, tablet or mobile phone. It is an informal tool which enables all team members to get involved, chat and share best practice, as well as the company being able to provide company updates, latest news and also promote benefits and key initiatives such as mental health week.
